We trust in markets rather than mandates, in individual initiative instead of government action, in spontaneity and creativity rather than excessive planning. We encourage civic innovation, which often means government doing the same or more with less, and civic renewal, which means promoting volunteerism, private charity and the do-it-ourselves sector as an alternative to government action.
